What to write

Questions about how a rule or an ingredient works are welcome, and may become an article. That division of labour is deliberate: a reader supplies the experience — the thing that happened, the label that made no sense, the warning nobody explained — and the site supplies the mechanism, the regulation and the evidence. If a question turns into an article, the article says what question prompted it and answers it against documents, not against anecdote. Questions of the form “what does this ingredient do” and “what does this warning legally commit the manufacturer to” are the ones this site is built to answer.

Corrections

If you think something here is wrong, say which page, which sentence and what the document actually says, and link it if you can. A correction acted on is noted, with its date, in the corrections log. A request is judged on the document it cites.
