What a page load involves
Each page here is a file of HTML, served with one stylesheet and images, all of them from this domain. The one <script> tag a page carries is inert: it holds a block of application/ld+json — structured data describing the page to search engines, which a browser reads and never executes — and the server sends a Content-Security-Policy header containing script-src 'none', which instructs your browser to refuse to run any script on these pages even if one somehow appeared.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare processes the connection data a web request carries as it serves a page — typically the requesting IP address, the time, the path requested, the response code, and the user-agent string your browser sends. That processing is Cloudflare's, done as the host, and it is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy documentation, which describes what it retains and for how long.
What the contact form stores
The contact page carries a form. When you send it, the form posts to an endpoint on this same domain and writes one row to a database the publisher reads. That row holds the name, email address, subject and message you typed, plus three items the request itself carries: the IP address the submission came from, your browser's user-agent string, and the date and time. Only the message is required; the other fields can be left empty.
A submission is used to answer you and, where it reports an error in an article, to document the correction in the corrections log — with the date and the substance, not with your name or address unless you have asked to be credited. There is no automatic deletion schedule: a row stays in that database until you ask for it to be removed, or until the publisher clears it.
How to ask for removal
To ask what is held about you, or to have a submission removed, send a message through the contact form with the date and subject line of the original, and say what you want done. If you left an email address, the reply confirms what was done.
